Do You Believe in Fairies?

Throughout history, our kind hearts, inquisitive spirits and mystical nature have been imitated, demonstrated and even duplicated in folklore and fairytales. The Spirit University invites you to our third annual Fairy Faire on June 23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Payne Park auditorium and grounds. There will be roving performers, exhibitors, food booths, psychic readings, mini-workshops, lectures, a bouncy fairy house and more.

In addition, there will be a fairy house building competition with a $50 grand prize awarded in both the adult and youth categories, as well as other prizes for both groups. A fairy house is a small structure where fairies can live in harmony with nature. It can be of any design made entirely from natural materials. Each house should be built on a sturdy foundation, so it can be easily transported. Please submit by 11 a.m. on the day of the Fairy Faire. Throughout the day, fairies will gather in song and dance to cast their ballots for “Best of Show.” Prizes and ribbons will be awarded at 3:30 p.m.

Location: 2100 E Laurel St., Sarasota. Cost: $5 admission, free for kids 12 and under, $5 entry for fairy house building competition. For more information, call 941-544-5874 or visit TheSpiritU.com.
