Many people who attend Feldenkrais Method® classes want help with back pain, but are often shocked to see the “minimal movements” making the difference. Dr. Feldenkrais liked to mix up your patterns. Breathing is a perfect example. You might know already that posture can affect how you breathe, but can aiming your attention on those patterns of breathing with a different focus affect your posture?
Bonnie Kissam, M.A., offers an “Introduction to the Feldenkrais Method” with her two-hour seminar called “Viva la Breathing. This will take place on November 6, 6:30–9 p.m., at Ionie’s Raw Food Café. This is also followed by two full-day seminars—“Moving from and through Your Core,” November 17, and “Soft Eyes and Hands, Easy Neck and Shoulders,” November 18.
