Reiki Center of Venice Opens Massage School

The Reiki Center of Venice has a new name and a new mission. The Center has been renamed the Reiki Center of Venice, School of Massage Therapy and Bodywork, and will focus on attracting students to their 500-hour Massage Therapy Program. Students who enroll and successfully complete the program will be eligible to sit for the Florida State exam to become licensed massage therapists.
“I have seen an increasing understanding and appreciation for massage therapy services over the last 10 years,” said Francine Milford, a licensed state and nationally certified massage therapist and owner of the Center. “With the ever-growing number of retirees in our area, students should easily find employment. Baby Boomers make great massage candidates because they know that preventative medicine will keep them in top shape to enjoy that round of golf or tennis even more.”
Courses include anatomy and physiology, massage theory and practice, hydrotherapy, allied modalities, ethics, massage law, and the prevention of medical errors. In addition, students will participate in a clinical setting to practice skills obtained in the program. These clinics will be open to the public.
Milford has been teaching continuing education workshops for more than 10 years, and has worked with more than 2,000 students. She offers small classes to guarantee individualized attention.
An open house is scheduled from 1-4pm Monday through Friday from July 5 through July 8, and from 6-8pm on July 8. Classes begin on July 11.
