Lynn Hocker, a dancer, fitness enthusiast, massage educator, and licensed massage therapist for more than 16 years, recently completed teacher training with Anjali Austin, a GYROTONIC Master Trainer and associate professor of dance at FSU.
Founded on the movements of dance, yoga, and martial arts, the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM™ focuses on how the spine moves naturally improving functionality in a balanced and harmonious way. These movements are taught seated, and then transferred to a specialized pulley tower that allows a continuous flow from one movement to the next.
The uniqueness of the system is that it stretches and strengthens at the same time, with minimal effort, while it increases the range of motion and develops coordination. Unlike most conventional exercise machines where linear and isolated movement patterns are performed creating uncoordinated strength, the trademarked GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM emphasizes multiple joint articulation.
Lynn and husband, Jeff Hocker, both LMT’s, are owners of Innerwave Bodywork & Movement. Offices are located at 630 S. Orange Avenue, Suite 301 near historic Burns Court. In addition to the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM appointments for sessions of KMI-Structural Integration, Thai Massage, and Yamuna Body Rolling are offered.
Lynn can be reached at 941-586-5349. Please visit innerwavebodywork.massageplanet.com or gyrotonic.com for more information.
