Jenna’s Joyous Table: Food for Harmony, Health and Happiness

Food prepared with love is lovely; food prepared with joy is joyous; food prepared with laughter is fun. The food we make includes the emotions, intentions and state of mind of the chef.
Jenna Holst will present a workshop at the Rose Center on October 12th from 6pm to 7:30pm, focused on simple techniques to center your thoughts prior to and during food preparation. Fresh ingredients include grains such as GABA brown rice and quinoa, legumes, seasonal fruit and vegetables, seasonings and condiments, as well as a variety of proteins.
Discussion topics will include ingredient substitutions, seasonal cooking, culinary techniques, and international flavor bases. A tasting plate will conclude the workshop. Cost is $25.
For over 25 years, Holst has worked as a consultant, chef, culinary instructor, commercial food stylist, and writer specializing in food, healthy living, international cuisines and organics. She has written cookbooks, articles, recipes and marketing material. Her work has appeared in numerous international publications including Food and Wine, The San Francisco Chronicle, Chicago Sun, New York Newsday, and The Washington Post, The Christian Science Monitor and in programming aired on Lifetime, TVFN and PBS.
