K9 Korral Supports Non-profit Rescues

K9 Korral, a dog training and holistic pet supply company in downtown Sarasota, has partnered with Central Pet Products to distribute overstocked dog and cat food to area non-profit pet rescue centers.
“The overstocks come to us on pallets,” explained K9 Korral associate Mark Shambour. “We then pass that food along to various rescue groups throughout the Sarasota-Manatee area. It’s just one way we can help support the lesser-known organizations.”
K9 Korral doesn’t stop with just food, however.
They also work with Prosource wholesale flooring, a membership club based in Sarasota that provides “beds” for dogs and cats.
“These are carpet samples, usually 2’ x 3’, that are perfect for lining crates and offering a soft spot for napping dogs and cats. We are happy to give these to appreciative rescue organizations.”
Readers can learn more about rescue efforts by listening to Heidi’s Hounds, a weekly local radio program that is supported by the company and airs Fridays at 12:30 on Clear Channel’s 106.5 WCTQ.
“It was my dream to sponsor a program dedicated to rescue organizations and to showcase adoptable dogs,” said Shambour. “Each week Heidi’s Hounds features a different 501(c)3 rescue organization and their adoptable dog. Being featured as Rescue of the Week gives the organization a radio interview and Internet linking on WCTQ’s web site with Heidi’s Hounds’ own web page, 1065wctq.com. We all want these dogs to find forever homes.”
