The Rose Center, 2020 Rose Street in Sarasota will host chef Jenna Holst on March 14, 2012, at 6pm for a follow-up to her popular fall cooking classes.
Food prepared with love is lovely, food prepared with joy is joyous, food prepared with laughter is fun. The food we make includes the emotions, intentions and state of mind of the chef. Balance is created through a union of nutritious, pure ingredients and a harmonious state of mind.
In this workshop, you will learn simple techniques to center your thoughts prior to and during food preparation. You will explore a world of fresh ingredients, from grains such as GABA brown rice, quinoa, and legumes, to seasonal fruit and vegetables, seasonings and condiments, as well as a variety of proteins.
Jenna will discuss topics including ingredient substitutions, seasonal cooking, culinary techniques, and international flavor bases. You will create several tasty, nutritious dishes in a flash, and then sample everyone’s fare.
For over 25 years, Jenna Holst has worked as a consultant, chef, culinary instructor, commercial food stylist, and writer specializing in food, healthy living, international cuisines and organics.
