Kidding Around Yoga (KAY) is a style of yoga that was created by Haris Lender, ERYT 500. All branches of the Science of Yoga are incorporated in clear, organized, child-centered classes. A typical KAY class includes singing, dancing, jogging, laughing, games, storytelling, breathing, centering, sharing, and gratitude -- all while learning and practicing yoga. Ms. Gail was trained directly by Ms. Lender.
“Yoga for children is different than for adults. While cultivating physical and mental health, it’s playful, fun, even silly at times. And I love that it’s full of creative movement and is practically all music-based”, explains Ms. Gail, whose BA in education focused on creative arts. She has been teaching children and adults her own original rhythm and movement classes since 1994.
Children experience stress, too. “Learning and growing isn’t always easy, so it’s never too early to develop and practice lifelong stress management skills, like calming the mind and keeping a strong and healthy body,” she continued. “I chose “Kidding Around Yoga” because they take the science of yoga seriously, while making it accessible and fun for kids.”
