K9 Korral offers a “Mix Class”
Jul 27, 2012 04:50PM
The K9 Korral, the institute of canine behavior, is pleased to announce their new “mix” class. The class consists of two weeks of general obedience for students to brush up on the behavior commands of their dog. Although a prerequisite to the course is a basic level 1 obedience course, the first two weeks will help the handler shape commands that are already instilled in their pet. ,
The 3rd and 4th weeks will consist of basic agility training. Unlike the seriousness of obedience training, pets and handlers should enjoy the activity of working an agility course in the air conditioned K9 Korral. These classes are for fun and consist of mostly obstacles of agility such as tunnels, dogwalks, ‘A’ frames, weave poles, chutes, teeter-totters, and jumps. Which of these your pet will enjoy is based on the activity level, age, and temperament of your pet,
The 5th and 6th week will consist of rally obedience. This is a more formal level of obedience where a course is set up and the handler will perform the sign (station) requests to be completed. It includes basic commands (sit, stand, down, stay, etc) to more formal commands and finishes that are taught in the classes.
