Veterinary Hyperbaric Chamber & Minimally-Invasive Surgeries For Pets
Critical Care & Veterinary Specialists of Sarasota, LLC (CCVSS) is the only Sarasota/ Manatee area veterinary clinic offering pet owners the option for many of the same kinds of minimally-invasive surgeries that have transformed human medicine. The clinic has also invested in a veterinary hyperbaric chamber for its ability to advance healing of many conditions.
The hyperbaric chamber is the only one available for small animal medicine on Florida’s Gulf Coast, although it has commonly been used at regional equine centers for therapy with horses, said Dr. Anne Chauvet, a veterinary neurologist and founder of CCVSS.
With the addition earlier this year of a human grade laparoscopy and endoscopy center having a full range of capabilities and the hiring last month of Dr. Scott Rose, a board certified surgeon with expertise in laparoscopic techniques, CCVSS now has the ability to offer so-called “keyhole” procedures for surgeries ranging from spaying to orthopedics and gastropexies, which are preventive surgeries to stop a serious medical condition known as bloat, Chauvet said.
CCVSS offers 24-hour emergency care, surgery, and intensive care for family pets following surgery and for those that are critically ill, have suffered a trauma or need monitored medical treatments like feeding tubes or mechanical ventilation. The practice also treats brain, spinal cord and neuromuscular conditions in animals.
