Humane Society at Lakewood Ranch to Host Autumn Dog Days

Greenbrook Adventure Park in Lakewood Ranch will be the site for a massive autumn festival to benefit the Humane Society at Lakewood Ranch. The event, Dog Days of Autumn, will be held on November 3 from 11am until 3pm, and will feature fun, food and adoptable animals from area rescues throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Five thousand to 6,000 visitors from throughout the Suncoast are expected to attend.
Dog Days will host the 2nd Annual Hot Dog Culinary Cook-Off where area teams from local groups and business muster their creativity to vie for the bragging rights of “Best Hot Dog in Lakewood Ranch.” Last year’s winner, Michael Saunders Real Estate, will be present to defend their title and the traveling trophy.
New to this year’s event will be the inaugural March of the Furry Paws, a benefit “fun walk” for humans with and without furry friends. Donations will be accepted through Walkers will experience stations of fun and “Burma Shave-esque” billboards along the way.
Area rescues and animal welfare organizations throughout both Sarasota and Manatee Counties will be present with their most adoptable animals, making Dog Days of Autumn a must-come venue for those seeking to adopt animals into their homes.
