Sarasota Welcomes BoomerPlus® Yoga Training

Garden of the Heart Yoga Center is pleased to bring BoomerPlus® Yoga to Sarasota, December 15- 16, January 5-6, and January 19-20. BoomerPlus is a training program for people who want to teach yoga to seniors. This program is suitable for healthcare workers, personal trainers, family caregivers, as well as yoga teachers who wish to specialize in working with an aging population.
The training will be held in three modules, and participants may attend individual modules or the entire program to get the most of the training. Up to 30 CEUs are available from Yoga Alliance for participating in the program. Participants will learn techniques using breath, visualization and key biomechanical alignment principles in Therapeutic Yoga to help Boomers stay active and healthy throughout the aging process. Techniques will be taught in sequencing, functional anatomy, observation and assessment, chair yoga, applications for specifi c health issues, marketing, and more.
The training will be led by Amy Kraft, ERYT-500, a Yoga Therapist and Educator with 35 years of yoga experience including 1000+ hours of anatomy and biomechanics training. She is a pioneer in the fi eld of integrative yoga and rehab and a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Amy integrates yoga therapy and rehab into medicine, working with physicians, podiatrists, physical therapists, chiropractors, and other health and wellness specialists around the country on targeted therapies for specifi c patient needs.
