Dogs Seized in Animal Cruelty Need Homes

Dec 14, 2012 05:46PM

Manatee County Animal Services seized several Pit Bull mix dogs from a home in Bradenton in mid- September after the owners were charged with animal cruelty. Animal Services petitioned the court for a hearing to gain custody of the dogs. A hearing was conducted and the dogs were remanded to the custody of Manatee County Animal Services.

Said Kris Weiskopf, Chief of Manatee Animal Services, “We are asking for the public’s help in placing these dogs into loving homes. The dogs did not ask for the poor treatment they received and they deserve a second chance to live and love.”

Of the nine dogs rescued, only one, as of press time, had been adopted.

For more information and to give a forever home to one of these deserving animals, contact Manatee County Animal Services at 941-742-5933.
