More than 250 patients weekly from the greater Sarasota area visit the Student Clinic at East West College of Natural Medicine, 3808 N. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. The Clinic offers student interns an opportunity to complete their clinical requirements for the Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine under the supervision of an experienced acupuncture physician, and the public benefits by having access to the services at a low fee per treatment session. The first visit includes a comprehensive interview of overall health.

Services provided include acupuncture and electro-acupuncture, Japanese acupuncture, homeopathy, Chinese herbal medicine, Tuina and cupping.

EWC students complete 3,000 program hours taught by experts in traditional Oriental healing techniques and current Western medical practices. A new program in massage therapy will begin in July, and a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is slated to begin in mid-January, 2014.

Dr. Joe Rogalski, president of the College, noted that the school is expanding its accreditations and will be offering more programs during the next year.
