Sep 03, 2013 08:40PM
ReFlex Arts begins its first 500-hour yoga teacher training session this October. In this advanced, year-long training, the emphasis will be on creating better and stronger teachers. For 12 months, dedicated yogi’s will attend one weekend a month at the new ReFlex retreat center, Heartwood, delving deep into subjects such as Yoga and Ayurveda, Bhagavad Gita Studies, Advanced Asanas (how to do them and teach them), Prenatal Basics for Yoga Teachers, and Children’s Yoga. Students in the program also have the opportunity to become certified in children’s yoga through yoga alliance, at no additional cost, after completing the children’s yoga weekends and teaching the required 30 hours. Students will hone their skills picking a specialty (examples of a specialty include pranayma, yoga for depression, yoga for athletes, etc.) and spending a year working toward mastery of their chosen subject.
The course will conclude with a yoga festival, which will not only teach students how to create an event, but also how to showcase their yogic skills to a larger audience. This program is the next step for committed and serious yoga teachers.
This course will meet one weekend a month at the new ReFlex Retreat Center, Heartwood. Some weekends will be available to those not in the 500-hour program.
