Fall Detox with Ayurveda Workshop Slated for October 19
Oct 01, 2013 03:11PM
Garden of the Heart Yoga, 2888 Ringling Boulevard, Sarasota, will host a fall detox workshop with Ayurveda on October 19 from 1pm to 3pm.
As many health and spiritual conscious people today are concerned of their toxin level, “detox” is a hot topic. Many people are also interested in Ayurveda. This is an informative workshop that teaches a safe and gentle way to detox, as we shift from hot and humid summer to cooler and drier fall. It’s important to release the summer’s heat and toxins we accumulated in our tissues, as well as lubricate the body both inside and out to prepare for winter. Fall is also the time to tame the fun seeking, rather restless energy during summer and slow down with reflection and contemplation.
Ayurveda, the holistic wellness and healing system from ancient India offers a gentle but effective way to cleanse the body, heart, mind and spirit during fall. While spring detox focuses on renewal and rejuvenation by shedding excess weight and releasing accumulated mucus, fall detox is all about TLC; nurturing ones self with wholesome and nutritious foods, massage, meditation and warmth.
Surapsari, the workshop teacher, was certified as Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselor by American Institute of Vedic Studies of Santa Fe, New Mexico. She is also a certified yoga instructor and is registered with Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour professional level. She has been teaching Ayurveda, yoga, meditation and sacred Asian dances internationally.
Preregistration is required. Call 941-341-9781 or visit GardenOfTheHeartYoga.com for cost, registration and more information.
