Study Participants Sought by Gecko Joint and Spine

Nov 04, 2013 08:01PM

Dr. Wellington Chen of Gecko Joint and Spine is seeking applicants to join a patient-funded study through the Bio Sciences Research Center at Harvard.

The study examines the concentrated BMA (Bone Marrow Aspirate) while keeping hematocrit (blood cells) below 15 percent. Currently, most treatments offered to patients wishing to use stem cells to regenerate joints to avoid surgery use a product that includes a much higher blood concentration. Studies have shown that a lower blood concentration may provide a better response to cartilage regeneration.

Gecko Joint and Spine has been leading the way in the use of both adipose and bone marrow for regenerative orthopedics, being the first to pioneer many advances to these treatment options.

For more information on applying to enter this study contact Gecko Joint and Spine at 941-330-8553.
