Make Your Own Ceremonial Hand Drum
Mar 04, 2014 09:48PM
Rev. Zan Benham, also known as ButterflyDeerwoman, will facilitate her annual Make Your Own Ceremonial Hand Drum workshop, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 22 at the Labyrinth Unity Church of Sarasota. Materials for these drums need to be ordered by March 7.
Participants choose their hides and size of drum. Prices include everything, the workshop, taxes, shipping and all the materials, including one custom made round cedar frame, hide, raw-hide laces, and buckskin with fixings for the beater. Hides include deer, elk, horse and buffalo, and sizes are 13”, 15” and 17”.
Give yourself a Sacred Day of Oneness, stepping back in time, in a beautiful setting surrounded by large trees by a pond, around a fire circle at the Labyrinth behind Unity Church. This is where the Earth heart and your heart may find one unified beat.
Bring a brown bag picnic lunch and spend the day in sacred and conscious connection and ceremony to awaken the power of the spirit drum within. Everything will be provided to help fashion their own Native American style, one-sided hand-held drum and beater. There is nothing finer than beating a drum fashioned through your own spirit connection, heart and hands.
