‘Practice with Purpose’ to Benefit Selah Freedom

May 07, 2014 07:16PM

Save the date, June 7, when Heartwood Retreat Center sponsors a fundraiser for Selah Freedom. Time is 12:30 to 5 p.m.

Selah Freedom is a local nonprofit working to spread awareness about human trafficking that takes place in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. They have recently opened a home for survivors, women who have been sexually exploited and trafficked in our very own town. Selah has given them a safe haven for rest, recovery and restoration…the very meaning of Selah. They fight relentlessly to bring light to this form of modern day slavery and you can help, too.

Heartwood Retreat Center, a division of ReFlex Arts, will hold two donation-only classes at 12:30 p.m. (outdoors) and 3 p.m. (indoors). A documentary will be shown at 1 p.m. on human trafficking.

There will be various holistic vendors, raw food available for purchase, live music and sensational prizes. The day will end with a vibrational meditation by the Sound Sisters.

Please email [email protected] for vendor info, sponsorship opportunity or general questions.

Location: 17505 Waterline Rd., Bradenton. For more information, phone: 941-359-9642, email [email protected], or visit HeartwoodRetreatCenter.com or SelahFreedom.com.
