A four-day training called “Earth Immersions” is approved for 3.1 continuing education credits by the American Council on Exercise. Classes will be offered October 17-21at Kai Moves in Sarasota.
The American Council on Exercise requires certified personal trainers and group fitness instructors to acquire 2.0 credits every two years (20 hours of continuing education) to stay updated on the latest in fitness, wellness and health. This “earth immersion” offers 31 hours of the latest in mind/body exercise. The training is open to anyone interested in learning more about somatics, experiential anatomy, authentic movement, music and more.
Trainers and group fitness instructors often have to travel to conventions and pay for flights, hotels and other expenses, along with a convention fee, to acquire the continuing education credits needed. They can also acquire credits through ACE online or courses purchased. Kai's Earth Immersion is a four-day deep dive into experiencing the mind/body connection within one’s physical self.
Whether trainees plan to teach at Kai or are looking for a personal retreat to charge their batteries (leaders in fitness need to re-charge too!), this new option is offered locally. Kelly Atkins, a dancer/choreographer and founder of Kai, has 27 years of experience in the fitness and wellness industry and teaches the class. She’s known for her easy-going nature and ability to create a space where students feel relaxed and comfortable, so they can learn with ease.
Location: 5000 Fruitville Rd, Sarasota. For more information, visit KaiMoves.com or phone 941-928-8866.
