Bear Creek Veterinary Alternatives Offers New Services
Sep 01, 2014 03:05AM
Dr. Jaime Gonzalez, an Integrative Medicine doctor, has over 24 years of experience as a small animal veterinarian. Dr. Gonzalez and his wife Susan opened Bear Creek Veterinary Alternatives in 2010. Their philosophy from the beginning was to combine deep Native American spiritual beliefs with the practice of holistic medicine. Susan stresses that Dr. Gonzalez does not take a cookie-cutter approach to animal care but treats each animal as an individual.
The practice is growing, with a new doctor coming on-board, expanded services and hours and a cold laser, which is useful in treating arthritis and chronic conditions in animals not suited for acupuncture. Additionally, the clinic is establishing the Red Fox Institute, a non-profit, to accept donations for animals needing holistic care, – especially end-of-life care – a training/mentorship program for veterinarians and educational offerings. A public training, “Healing Touch for Animals (HTA) Level 1” will be offered October 17-19.
Location: 7509 S. Tamiami Trl, Sarasota. For more information, including operating hours, phone 941-312-6825 or visit bearcreeksarasota.com. For more information on the training, visit HealingTouchForAnimals.com.
