Women’s Meditation Circle Returns on October 10

In 2006, a group of eight women assembled in a near-empty house to do a “house-blessing.” That event was the birthplace of the Women’s Meditation Circle. The original eight grew to 14, to 25, to 35, and when it outgrew private homes, Rising Tide came to the rescue, giving the group a “home” on Friday nights. Today, this community of women amounts to 500.
The Women’s Meditation Circle has been voted “Favorite Meditation Leader” in six consecutive Nattie Awards in Natural Awakenings Magazine’s annual selection. On October 10, the group returns to Rising Tide Spiritual Center for its ninth year. This circle of women, who meet on the new and full moons, represent the high ideals of the group. Some come to restore their spirits. For others, it is a spiritual destination on Friday nights, where they are exposed to different meditation leaders and spiritual practices.
In the 2014-2015 calendar year, the group will be introduced to new meditation leaders from many different paths, including animal totems, Balinese spirituality, sound healing and Kirtan.
