Prevent or Ease Stiffness with the Feldenkrais Technique
Sep 28, 2014 06:54PM
On October 24 to 26, Bonnie Kissam – Feldenkrais Practitioner, LMT, CE Provider (15 CEs for LMTs) – will present a Feldenkrais agility training at Ionie’s in Sarasota for active people to protect and prevent injuries. The exercise is also excellent for less active people, as a way to stay moving. The workshop begins Friday evening at 6:30 p.m., and runs all day Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Be less stiff and more agile – no matter what your age.
Agility is more than stretching or being flexible. Agility is about moving in a coordinated, natural way that is not bound with too much muscle holding or too much flexibility. Our muscles are designed to have a natural synergistic relationship between elongating and contracting. This synergy allows you to bend and move easily with freedom in your movements. Stiffness happens when that synergy gets lost.
Regaining and Maintaining Agility is a “movement” laboratory that is based on Dr. Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® lessons. As a coach of others or as your own personal coach, you will learn how to improve your performance in your art, sport or daily activities. NO pain. ALL gain
