Garden of the Heart Hosts Every Kids Yoga

Sep 28, 2014 07:58PM

From October 17 through 19, Garden of the Heart Yoga Center will host Craig Hanauer’s Every Kids Yoga training. This is a 20-hour Yoga Teacher Training module that empowers people to teach yoga to all children, – especially those with developmental disorders and special needs – ages 4-12.
Participants will learn how the practice of yoga parallels and supports other therapeutic modalities, particularly for the following diagnoses: High Functioning Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome, Sensory Processing Dysfunction, Learning Disabled and ADHD.
This experiential workshop will provide a strong foundation to teaching yoga to children with special needs, including those, who are easily over-stimulated, potentially impulsive and/or distractible, exhibit poor social skills and boundaries, learning disabled, potentially oppositional and/or disruptive, and/or experience high or low muscle tone.
The program is appropriate for yoga teachers and parents, teachers and therapists with a personal yoga practice, who are interested in incorporating yoga into their work with children.
Craig Hanauer is a New York State Certified Creative Arts Therapist, a Kripalu Certified Yoga Teacher, and a Yoga Alliance 500-Hour “Experienced” Registered Yoga Teacher.

Location: Garden of the Heart Yoga Center, 2888 Ringling Blvd, Sarasota. For session times and pricing, phone 941-341-9781, email [email protected], or visit GardenOfTheHeartYoga.com.
