Celebrate a New Year/New You at Garden of the Heart Yoga Center
Jan 02, 2015 01:50PM
January is a great month to get started on a yoga practice. Garden of the Heart Yoga makes it easy for students to celebrate the self with heart-centered, themed classes that connect the physical practice of yoga asana with the philosophical and spiritual sides of yoga. Two new Introduction to Yoga Series will start the second week of January with free classes on January 11 and 12.
Participants who register for the 12-week series will receive a free yoga mat.
January offers opportunities to grow and stretch the mind and heart, as well as the body. Open the heart with a special yoga class led by Cheryl Chaffee followed by a double gong meditation led by Ed Russell on January 10. The vibrations of the gongs, tuned to the frequency of the heart and the earth, help to remove energy blockages and facilitate ease in meditation after opening the body with yoga asana.
Open the mind with a weekend of philosophy with world-renowned Bhakti Yoga Scholar Bill Mahony, January 30 through February 1. The topic of discussion for the weekend is The Bhagavad Gita for Modern Yogis. Learn how this ancient text applies to the fast-paced life of the 21st Century, and how to use the study of yoga to enhance everyday, modern life.
Garden of the Heart Yoga is now offering a monthly unlimited membership, so students can experience more of the benefits of yoga. Introductory rate is $108/month with a three- month commitment.
