‘The Art of the Violin’ Presented by Perlman Music Program

The Perlman Music Program encourages artistic development and camaraderie among young international string musicians via a nurturing, non-competitive and world-renowned Music Education Program, while offering Educational Outreach Program events in Sarasota and surrounding communities.

The current event, The Art of the Violin, showcases one-of-a-kind violins that have been transformed by both local and international artists.  These unique works of art will be on display through February at local galleries.  

The artists participating in this event include Brendan Coudal, Karen Prosper Davenport, Farry Forgard, Gay Germain, James Griffin, Todd Grywinski, Tim Jaeger, Cassia Kite, Candace Knapp, Jill Krasner, Raven Skye McDonough, Micah Mathewson, Joseph Melancon, Tobias Norton, Marcos Casanove (Novadi), Andrea Dasha Reich, Gale Fulton Ross, David Smokler, Amy Webber and Vladislav Yeliseyev.

A reception and violin auction will be held in an elegant home on Longboat Key on February 19, at 6 p.m. Tickets are $75, and proceeds benefit the education programs of The Perlman Music Program of the Suncoast. For details, call Margaret Ann Behrends, 941-350-2338
