I am very excited about the February issue, as not only is it packed with great tips and up-to-date information about good health and wellness, but it is also has articles to help our love life. With Valentine’s Day approaching, this is the perfect opportunity to showcase articles that will help those couples maintain and improve their relationships, as well as help the singles out there, too. We have a great article on online dating, including our own Natural Awakenings website, NaturalAwakeningsSingles.com. As we start the new year and focus on getting and staying healthy, what better time than to improve our love lives, too?
With the shorter days and cooler weather, I know we can get a little more sedentary. Although our area enjoys great weather year-round, we do have a few gloomy days that can make us a little blue. Take a look at the Happy Meals article to help us stave off depression that can come around this time of year. I know I tend to shut down a bit when the sun goes down, but good nutrition can help energize and boost our moods.
You may have noticed the issues in the past year include more articles on animals. Like most of you, I have a darling dog, and I have many friends and neighbors with pets. We all get attached to our furry “kids.” Recently, one of my neighbors lost her dog, Sadie, to cancer. She was a gentle golden retriever who was a great friend and family member. It was hard to see the sadness left on her owner. Plus, I miss her, too. We have included an article this month on how to get through the loss and keep their memory alive. The strong bond we develop with our pets is hard to let go of, and I hope this article will help many get through the pain.
Enjoy the issue and the little surprises that Valentine’s Day can bring. I love hearing from you, as your input helps us decide where to focus on local establishments and environmental, spiritual and physical topics.
And, of course, best wishes always.
