Experience Aerial Yoga Weekend Immersion Training at Reflex Arts

Someone recently came to the studio asking, “How can you call the aerial practice of back flips and tricks authentic yoga?” Our answer, of course, was as complicated as the question.
Aerial yoga is a fascinating art that, in its advanced forms, can look like dance or even circus arts, but the key word is aerial yoga. So, to put it simply, the aerial swing is a great prop, just like a block or strap, that can help us deepen our practice by using gravity and challenging our bodies in new, different ways. Students who find inversions on the mat frightening or too difficult can easily begin to conquer their fears in the swing, not to mention receiving therapeutic decompression of the spine with every moment spent upside down.
As for the tricks? There is absolutely nothing wrong with laughing, playing like a kid again, or reminding yourself you can still do something new and different. Our aerial yoga training is designed to give a broad overview of the subject, while also guiding students to learn correct alignment and technique. Our weekend program will help you deepen your practice and, by the end, give you enough information and support that you can begin teaching.
This program is open to RYT 200 and 500 students for yoga alliance continuing education credits, as well as to instructors from other fitness backgrounds. The class is designed for teachers, but those just looking to deepen their own practice will walk away with a strong understanding to continue practicing with a better foundation of form and proper body alignment.
The classes will be held February 13 from 1 to 9 p.m., and February 14 and 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
