Lana and Lucho De Vettori were searching for the perfect location to open a state-of-the art healing center. They found it, less than a mile from the beautiful Nokomis Public Beach on Casey Key in Nokomis. The sprawling cottage is beautifully landscaped and soothingly furnished, and the glass-enclosed lanai at the rear of the building offers a close-up view of a majestic Banyan tree. The result is a Zen-like experience that is calming and cleansing.
Lana brings impressive credentials to her role as co-owner. A Licensed Massage Therapist and Medical Massage Practitioner, she also leads Yoga sessions at the spa Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. Lana has a background in Eastern healing arts, with expertise in anatomy, physiology and Western medicine. She and Lucho both hold Advanced Certifications in multiple areas of massage, physical training, fitness and nutrition as evidence of their life-long passion for learning and holistic health. Lana’s true passion is for empowering others and is excited when she sees healing replace pain and suffering. Some of Lana’s specialties include Medical Massage, Myofascial Release, Acupressure, Electro-Stimulation, Reiki, Hydrotherapy and Thermalism, Lymphatic Drainage, Traditional Thai, Hot Stone Massage and Pilates. She is ISSA Certified, Aerial Yoga Certified and Reiki Level II Certified.
Lucho, co-owner, is the Office Manager and is a Physical Fitness Specialist and Clinical Exercise Therapist. Karate, soccer and tennis were mainstays in his early years. His time in the Navy gave him the discipline, commitment and leadership skills required to manage a business, and he holds a diploma from the Sarasota School of Massage Therapy. He has acquired multiple degrees, certifications and recognition in the areas of fitness and nutrition, including a Master of Sports & Nutritional Sciences, and is certified in plant-based nutrition from Cornell University.
Lana and Lucho have worked very hard to realize their dream of working together and owning a holistic healing center with an intimate environment for clients to receive professional treatments. Lana and Lucho live and love wellness, the beach, the ocean, the sun and nature. Finding this location for the spa was a dream come true.
One of the spa’s newest aesthetic treatments is the Signature Oxy-Sonic Organic Facial. “We are the only spa in the area that has the equipment and expertise to perform this amazing two-hour facial,” says Lana. “Ninety-five percent oxygen is used to provide deep exfoliation of all impurities, while ultrasound vibrations firm and tighten your skin, while our amazingly aromatic and nourishing food-grade organic products deliver a luxurious yet effective experience! At first, we thought a two-hour facial would be too much for our clients, but we have them asking for more when the treatment ends.”
Other popular treatments and programs, according to Lana, include the Beach Life Signature Massage, Thai Massage, Open Acupuncture, the Eight-Week Fitness & Nutrition Program and Reiki.
“Reiki is fascinating! When a person receives a Reiki treatment, the God-conscious part of the energy assesses where the person has blocks, and then directs the healing energy,” she explains. “It flows through the affected parts of the energy field, charges them with positive energy and raises the vibratory level in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break up and fall away. Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, allowing a healthy flow of Ki. When a block is released, a person may experience a cold or hot sensation. Once Ki is flowing naturally, the physical organs and tissues are then able to complete their healing process.”
Meet the Team
Lucho is quick to note that they are fortunate to have an outstanding team of therapists,
acupuncturists, estheticians and specialty trainers. The staff has grown rapidly since the spa opened, due in part to its reputation as an outstanding and unique fitness and health destination. “Our goal is to disconnect wealth from health,” he says. “Our clients consistently say that we provide an outstanding experience at reasonable cost.”
