Experience Southeastern Guide Dogs with a Guided Walking Tour
Mar 29, 2015 02:09AM
Southeastern Guide Dogs offers guided tours of their campus Monday through Saturday by reservation. Tours begin promptly at 10:15 am and last one hour and 15 minutes. It is recommended that you arrive for your tour approximately fifteen minutes prior. (Tours will be canceled in the case of inclement weather.)
Meet for the tour in the Freedom Pavilion, which is the large covered area directly across from the parking area. Tour visitors enjoy a guided walking tour of the beautiful 35-acre campus. You will learn about the mission of Southeastern Guide Dogs and what it takes to create a guide dog team. This is a walking tour; please wear comfortable clothing and shoes and bringing water.
Tours, which are geared for adult viewers, are available for a fee of $10 per person and can be scheduled up to two months in advance via the online reservation system. Each tour accepts a maximum of 25 participants. Tours for groups of children in third grade or higher are also offered. This is a wonderful age for children to get an understanding of the amazing work of the dogs. If your child is in second grade or lower, a puppy hugging tour is available.
The campus features wide sidewalks and handicap-accessible buildings.
