Jul 01, 2015 02:06PM
Take a scenic journey through the eyes of Native American Artist Rex A. Begaye with this new film, currently in pre-production.
Begaye came from the heart of Dine’htah (Navajo nation), Grand Canyon, Arizona. Born and raised with a culture and traditional values, he traveled throughout the country, teaching about the Native American people through his paintings.
The images of this full-blooded Dine’h (Navajo) artist speak of the universal connection between Mother Earth, Father Sky and man. Through his paintings, stories that have been passed down for generations by the Elders of many different nations are vividly brought to life. Begaye’s art celebrates the sacredness and discipline of the Dine’h culture, lending a contemporary outlook to the ancient traditions.
We invite the Sarasota community to join us in celebrating his life by assisting us in creating this “Path of Beauty” documentary. This film project will take us on a journey from Sarasota to Cleveland, and throughout the Navajo nation to film some of the most beautiful locations in the Southwest.
We will allow you to accompany us along this expedition through live streaming, video updates and Geocaching our “Path of Beauty” film treasures along the way. A crowdfunding project has been also launched to help us raise funds for equipment, supplies, transportation, lodging, permits and other production costs.
