Center for Spiritual Awareness Slide-Show Presentation and Kriya Meditation
Roy Eugene Davis is one of the last living direct disciples of Paramahansa Yogananda. Every summer, Davis offers week-long retreats at his Center of Spiritual Awareness in the North Georgia mountains. The retreats teach practices in meditation, self-discipline, positive mental habits and spiritual devotion in the Yoga tradition taught by Patanjali.
Jo Mooy and Patricia Cockerill attended the session in June. On August 7, they will present a slide-show and lecture on the highlights of the retreat. Attendees will experience their journey with Davis through his stories of his years with Yogananda and what he was taught by this great Master. The stories provide insight into the man who was Yogananda, his mission and the spiritual lineage from which he descended.
At the conclusion of this slide-show, Cockerill will explain the techniques of Kriya-Pranayama Meditation that Davis taught and lead the group in a meditation.
The event is offered as a fundraiser for Rising Tide Spiritual Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Program begins at 7 and runs until 8:30 p.m. Cost is $10 at the door.
