Big Cat Habitat Receives TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence
TripAdvisor® has awarded a 2015 Certificate of Excellence to Big Cat Habitat and Gulf Coast Sanctuary, a nonprofit safe haven for big cats, bears and other animals in need.
Certificates of Excellence are given to accommodations, restaurants and attractions listed on TripAdvisor that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on the site, according to TripAdvisor. “Big Cat Habitat opens its animal sanctuary to visitors who can view the animals up close and attend two educational and entertaining animal demonstrations,” says Kay Rosaire, founder of Big Cat Habitat. Admission fees are used for the care and enrichment of the animals, as well as impart the importance of habitat preservation to the public.
According to TripAdvisor, a proprietary algorithm determines the honorees and takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of reviews and opinions submitted by travelers over a 12-month period, as well as a business’s tenure and ranking on the site’s Popularity index. To qualify for the award, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must be listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
