Roy Eugene Davis to Appear at Unity of Sarasota
On January 17, 2–5 p.m., Unity of Sarasota invites the community to spend an afternoon with Roy Eugene Davis, one of the last two living direct disciples of Paramahansa Yogananda.
Davis is a scholar, rational thinker, and one who lives the spiritual teachings and training of his master Yogananda. It's rare that a direct disciple of a master can share his intimate account of that relationship, but in his book Yogananda as I Knew Him, Davis shares the psychological and spiritual transformations that occurred throughout his discipleship.
Davis’ Center of Spiritual Awareness is located in the north Georgia mountains where people from all over the world attend his retreat. His talks are intelligent, kind and filled with commentary of his time with Yogananda. But, more importantly, he focuses the audience on “self-realization” rather than on what he calls “psychic distractions.”
At Unity of Sarasota, Davis will discuss his time with Yogananda, lead a Kriya Pranayama meditation and answer questions. His books will also be available for purchase in the Unity Bookstore. This event is by donation only. Attendees are asked to consider the value of the teachings received, and donate accordingly. Seating and parking is limited, so please try to carpool.

Location: 3023 Proctor Rd., Sarasota. For more information, call 941-955-3301 or 941-355-1414, email [email protected] or visit
