God, in His infinite love for creation, made the Word flesh and, through the cooperation of the infinitely pure and sacred Virgin Mother Mary, planted the seed in her womb who proceeded to be delivered as Jesus. This Jesus is fully God and fully human at the same time. Anyone, who becomes aware of Jesus as the God in Human Form, is sanctified of all original sins from the Old Testament because He brought joy to the entire world.
When Jesus was nearly 30 years old, he appeared on the scene to show people how to lead a sinless life. He performed several miracles, as documented by his disciples, delivered instructional stories, or parables, and ministered to his followers through numerous sermons. In addition, Jesus also taught His disciples how to perform miracles and guide others toward these divine teachings.
After several years of preaching, demonstrating how to lead a sinless life and remaining wholly devoted to selfless service, Jesus came to the pinnacle of His mission. This was the demonstration of death and after-life.
This sequence started with the Transfiguration. Peter and others, who witnessed this, explained what transpired which we can experience for ourselves today. In fact, during a recent Bible study, a good friend of mine experienced these happenings while standing at his alter. This transfiguration suggests the Crucifixion, Resurrection and Ascension take place at a higher experiential level which is within the reach of everyone.
Jesus enacted the scene of the trial to ensure his crucifixion. This was part of His purpose to demonstrate his death, resurrection and ultimate ascension. All these stages apply to us as well, depending on how faithfully we follow His footsteps (i.e. How closely does my own behavior mirror that of Jesus?). Each of should strive to behave like His example. As long as we consistently try, even when we make mistakes, He will forgive and continue guiding us.
There is no reason to anxiously anticipate a Second Coming or Day of Judgment. The ideas of “the Passion” and “God dying” are archaic beliefs. We should, therefore, move away from these unproductive views. Jews are still waiting for their Messiah, and Christians have been waiting for His second coming for nearly 2000 years. However, Jesus is, and will always, be with us. So, let us follow Jesus and build a “Heaven on Earth” right now.
