Sarasota Mindfulness Institute Offers Tai Chi Easy™

On April 9, 12:30–3:30 p.m., Sarasota Mindfulness Institute will present a three-hour workshop to introduce Tai Chi Easy™, a blend of simple medical Qigong techniques with carefully chosen Tai Chi exercises that are accessible to anyone, from the extremely fit to those confined to wheelchairs or recovering from surgery. As you move, you will breathe deeply and naturally, focusing your attention —just as you do during a mindfulness meditation—on breath and bodily sensations.
According to Harvard Women’s Health Watch, “There is growing evidence that this mind-body practice, which originated in China as a martial art, has value in treating or preventing many health problems. And you can get started even if you aren’t in top shape or the best of health. This gentle form of exercise can help maintain strength, flexibility and balance, and could be the perfect activity for the rest of your life.”
