Florida Summer Skin Care Tips

Just as seasons change, so should our skin care routines. Florida summers are hot and muggy, the UV rays are off-the-charts, and we frequent both salt water and swimming pools. So, here are some tips to keep your skin healthy: 

Exfoliate: During the summer, exfoliate with an at-home scrub or masque twice a week. Schedule a Microdermabrasion or Dermaplane treatment once a month. Sloughing away loose or dead cells helps the skin absorb moisturizer. Also, shower body scrubs twice a week provide softness and glow.  

Hydrate: It’s especially important to drink enough water during this humid season. 6-8 glasses a day will keep your skin hydrated and vibrant.  

SPF: The suns rays break down collagen in the skin, so avoid looking leathery with a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with at least SPF 30. It’s also important to remember to reapply throughout the day, and protect your lips too with SPF 30+ protective balm.
