Helix: Low-Maintenance Cuts & Natural-Looking Curls
Aug 01, 2016 12:03AM
If you prefer a low-maintenance hairstyle with body and volume, then consider trying a Helix cut. Jutta Mestas, owner of European Helix Hair Designer in Port Charlotte, has worked in the beauty industry for several years, and has been performing the Helix technique since 2002. In fact, Mestas is the only fully trained Helix Designer on Florida’s West Coast.
The Helix cut works on any hair length or style. This look is achieved with a beveled and torqued scissor that can only be used for Helix cuts. This process only takes about one hour for short hair, and price depends on both the length and fullness of the hair.
European Hair Designer also offers Balayage, a French hair painting technique, which is ideal for those who don’t want traditional stripy or spaghetti-like highlights. Balayage creates a natural, blended and sun-kissed look instead. Mestas carefully paints on the highlights to avoid lines of demarcation caused by foils, making the final product last longer as well. The salon uses only organic products, so come experience this clean and scent-free environment.
