Abrams Dermatology Offers “Telehealth” Service
Sep 01, 2016 12:19AM
Abrams Dermatology is one of the first local dermatology practice to offer Teleheatlh, a virtual healthcare application that can be downloaded straight from your smartphone. Telehealth can be used to diagnose minor issues like acne flares, eczema flare and skin lesions, so you can avoid a commute to the doctor’s office.
Dr. Abrams is excited to provide Telehealth services to augment patient care and follow-ups. This mobile app is accessible to any established patient established who has visited the office within the past six months. All treatments performed and prescriptions ordered are documented in the patient chart. Once the user downloads Telehealth, the office will email an access link, along with instructions. The cost to submit a Telehealth case is $75 out-of-pocket (not covered by insurance). Patients should know that, even if they submit a Telehealth e-visit, Dr. Abrams or Sheryl Wilson, ARNP might need to further evaluate the case in-office. In addition, note that Telehealth is not a replacement for regular in-office visits, and Dr. Abrams still recommends scheduling annual full-body exams.
Contact Abrams Dermatology to activate your Telehealth service at no cost. You will only be charged when submitting a case. We recommend patients with a history of melanoma to avoid using Telehealth. Post-surgery bleeding, emergency situations, full-body exams and pregnant visitations, should be performed in-office.
