Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness is the gentle effort to remain present with one’s experience. This secular course teaches the basics of Mindfulness Meditation including an examination of our attitudes and assumptions.
These sessions will take place either March 3 and 8 or March 21 and 28, 5:30–7 p.m. You will learn skills for Mindfulness Meditation and postures that allow you to benefit the most from your practice. You will learn how to create and maintain a regular home practice. Breath awareness, body awareness, walking meditation and loving kindness meditation will be taught as well. Come learn the skills and techniques that will undoubtedly help you uncover a more present, kinder and peaceful version of yourself.
Cushions and chairs will be provided. Wear comfortable clothing. The course will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church in the West Wing. Registration is required. Please state your preferred dates on the registration form.
