Jun 30, 2017 07:37PM

by Four Pillars Staff

Hawaii is a dream vacation destination with its weather, beaches, culture and scenery, attracting over eight million visitors every year. If a trip to Hawaii isn’t on your agenda in the near future, Four Pillars is your next door escape, bringing ancient Hawaiian healing rituals directly to you.

You’re invited to join us July 20, 7–9 p.m., for a night of Hawaiian fun. Four Pillars practitioners will share their knowledge and practice of these ancient rituals, followed by a hands-on sample experience. In addition, Four Pillars will add the flavor of social connections to this event with like-minded people and authentic Hawaiian tropical drinks.

Experience the Following Hawaiian Healing Rituals:

  • Lomi-Lomi Massage: Agusta Perkins, LMT, will share the secrets behind the Hawaiian principles of life. Lomi-Lomi massage emphasizes living in harmony and love. This modality is known as loving hands massage” because it works gently but deeply into the muscles through a continuous flow of strokes, completely fostering the body to rest.

  • Ho’Oponopono Ritual: Shana Rosenthal, certified consulting hypnotist, and Cheri Christiansen, certified life coach, will share the Hawaiian practice of forgiveness and healing––ho’oponopono. Negative thought patterns and memories unconsciously guide your life and draw more negativity to you. By apologizing to yourself, your memory and the event in question, you can forgive, heal your memories and cleanse your perceptions. Techniques to deal with negative thought patterns will also be shared.

  • Tropical Facials: Did you know that many beneficial ingredients used in skincare products come from exotic and tropical places? Coconut, papaya, pineapple, aloe, jojoba and citrus are just a sample of the ingredients found in the products used in our Four Pillars Hydrating Facial Treatment. Learn how to hydrate your skin and sample these products yourself.

Our special Hawaiian summer escape will include one hour of these ancient healing rituals and one hour of fun, socializing and learning more about these hands-on experiences.

Limited space is available. Cost: $20. To register, call 941-373-3955. In addition to workshops and events, Four Pillars also offers massage and facials, Reiki and energy work, acupuncture, hypnosis, life coaching and a bookstore. SIDEBAR:

I love being a massage therapist. Not only do I get to learn all about anatomy and physiology, I get to learn about the different cultures and philosophies that go along with the various modalities massage has to offer.

My favorite thus far is Hawaiian Lomi––a beautiful, fluid and loving massage modality. It’s a method of Hawaiian healing with rituals passed down through generations and unique to each family (ohana). The general intention of this work is to support the recipient to release anything that is not serving them.

Lomi sessions begin and end with a prayer or intention. Strokes are long and flowing, and the forearms are used more than hands. This can create the sensation of waves over the body. I also incorporate breath (aho) throughout the session to keep energy flowing within myself and my client. The practice of Lomi is not only about bodywork but also about a way of life––where all beings are sacred, divine and whole, where movements and words are conscious and connected to the divine.

Lomi life can create alignment within the physical, energetic, emotional and spiritual bodies. Using Ho'oponopono, breath (aho) work, nurturing presence (mana) and aloha, this practice helps to cultivate a space of trust and love where transformation is possible.
