Empowered 2 Wellness Yoga Therapy Opens in Sarasota

A new personalized health and healing option for both the mind and body is now available in Sarasota. Empowered 2 Wellness Yoga Therapy announces the opening of its new office behind Michael’s on East at Midtown Medical Park, Building 1219, Suite 104, one block from Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

The National Institutes of Health recognizes yoga and yoga therapy as a mind-body intervention and one of the top 10 complementary and integrated health approaches. NCCIH and NIH fund major research, exploring yoga’s therapeutic value for a variety of conditions including anxiety, arthritis, back pain, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, multiple sclerosis and fibromyalgia.

Yoga Therapy’s mind-body programs target, adapt, integrate, educate and customize yoga practices to individual needs and allopathic conditions, so participants can actively manage their health symptoms and risk factors and contribute to the effectiveness of standard medicine.

C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, Paula Morris, is certified by and Integrative Yoga Therapy, and is a Yoga of the Heart® specialist for cardiac, cancer and chronic disease rehabilitation. Empowered 2 Wellness will offer introductory restorative sessions and an individual wellness survey at no charge while space allows.

Programs developing mindfulness, meditation, respiration and fitness will be discounted to inspire community recovery after Hurricane Irma, manage challenging life transitions and proactively make strides against cancer, heart disease and all chronic conditions. The benefits of 15-minute private restoratives can be fit into busy schedules for the health imperative of stress-reduction, especially for those who spend their days caring for others. Free recovery classes continue for cancer and lymphedema Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at In the Pink Boutique
