Reflexology for Relaxation at Heart and Sole Organics

Oct 30, 2017 07:25PM

There are reflexes in the hands and feet which correspond to every organ, gland and part of the body on a cellular level. Through the application of a compression technique by utilizing the thumbs and fingers on these particular areas of the hands or feet, reflexology can be beneficial in relieving stress and tension, improving circulation and normalizing function in a related area of the body which enhances overall health.

Reflexologists do not diagnose, claim to cure health disorders or take the place of medical intervention, but many people around the world use their modality to complement other treatments when addressing anxiety, asthma, cancer, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, headaches, kidney function, PMS, sinusitis and other conditions. Reflexology can also be beneficial for many painful conditions in the feet such as plantar fasciitis.

Research states that around 70% of illnesses are a direct result of stress in the body. The main attribute of reflexology is its positive effect on the nervous system by facilitating a “relaxation state, also known as the parasympathetic nervous system. This stimulates digestion, slows the heart rate and activates various bodily processes. Reflexology can balance the mind and body, sustaining a natural “homeostasis” that promotes relaxation and well-being.

Cindy Heard, Certified Reflexologist, LMT, LE, is the owner of Heart and Sole Organics. She also offers Organic/Holistic facial treatments and therapeutic massage. First-time clients are invited to take $15 off a regular priced one-hour reflexology session or any regular priced one-hour or more service.
