Reflexology for Health at Heart and Sole Organics

Jan 30, 2018 05:30PM

Reflexology is a holistic form of alternative therapy that is well respected in the complementary medicine field, and is increasingly used as an adjunct to conventional medicine. A trained Certified Reflexologist must have a minimum of 200 hours in specialized education and has to continue to re-certify by continuing educational requirements.

A reflexologist will utilize a particular technique by applying pressure with the thumbs and fingers to certain reflexes in the feet and hands that address specific body organs and glands to clear energy blockages. Reflexology is effective in helping many ailments and improving overall health.

Some, but not all, of the named conditions that can be helped by reflexology might include relief from muscle and back pain, tension headaches, digestive disorders, induced nausea from cancer and chemotherapy, hormonal imbalances and arthritis.

Reports from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Mayo Clinic and the National Cancer Institute state the following benefits of reflexology: releases tension and promotes relaxation, calms the mind, alleviates anxiety and depression, reduces pain and fatigue, brings the body into a state of balance and enhances sleep, to name a few examples.

Clients generally describe reflexology as a pleasant experience that gives them a sense of deep relaxation. In addition, their feet often feel both “light and energetic” upon standing after a session. Cindy Heard, Certified Reflexologist, LMT, LE, is offering for the month of February a one-hour introductory Reflexology session for $59 or the purchase of a one-hour or more Organic Facial or Massage session at regular price which includes a complimentary 30-minute reflexology session.
