Natural Awakenings Sarasota / Manatee / Charlotte

National Autism Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month

We all know children who cannot keep still, never seem to listen, don’t follow instructions or blurt out inappropriate comments at inopportune moments. Sometimes these children are labeled as troublemakers or criticized for being lazy and undisciplined.

Some of these children could struggle with ADHD. Others could be silently coping with stress from tragic events or a turbulent home life which can lead to a form of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Others could be overcome by depression or anxiety, and still others could meet the criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Neurofeedback is a means to quantify and train brain activity. How it works is quite simple.  Brain cells interact creating thoughts, sensations, actions and emotions, detectable as brain waves.  Neurofeedback monitors the brain waves, looks for irregularities, then produces a signal to correct and guide brain waves into a healthy pattern. Over time, the brain learns to maintains healthy ranges on its own. This technique has been researched and studied for over 50 years.

The Brain Wave Center’s mission is to support as many children as possible with neurofeedback training.  Therefore, payment arrangements can be made for families in need, and we also have relationships with various charitable organizations, such as the Easter Seals, which can help with financing. We provide Brain Mapping, Neurofeedback, Psychotherapy, Nutrition Counseling, Lymphatic Drainage, Craniosacral Therapy and more.
