Improve Your Health with Feng Shui

Use the following tips to enhance your health. Your personal space mirrors your inner self just as you mirror your surroundings. Your space can either create a harmonious body ecology or one that feels out of balance and unwell. This month, we will focus on increasing healing energy through these tips.
Keep your space clean and free of clutter. Disorder represents stagnant, stuck chi. It is difficult to make decisions in a cluttered home or to make positive moves toward growth and personal development. Stuck chi creates a blocked flow of energy in your body which can lead to pain, dysfunctional systems and even depression. Keeping your space clean and free of clutter will help you heal ailments, relieve pain and find peace.
Remove your shoes before entering your home. When entering your home space, you should remove your shoes. This allows you to leave the stress of your daily grind (and dirt) outside and allows for peaceful energy to make its way inside. Place a shoe rack just inside or outside your entryway and leave it all right there.
Surround yourself with natural light. Light is a super nutrient and required for optimal health. Be sure that your home has adequate natural light by allowing sunlight to come inside. Avoid bright lights an hour before bedtime. Yes, this means you must leave technology outside your bedroom. Viewing the bright lights of your phone at bedtime can be detrimental to a restful sleep. Avoid fluorescent lighting and utilize full-spectrum light whenever possible.
Make your bedroom a place for rest, relaxation and romance. Most of your life is probably spent in your work space and bedroom. By creating a safe and relaxing space to rest, you can truly rejuvenate and be ready for your next adventure. Make sure your bed is in the optimal position and avoid watching television before you retire for the evening. Incorporate soothing earth tones, blues and lavenders into your wall color, bedding and artwork to promote a relaxing atmosphere. Creating a comfortable inviting, bedroom that you hate to leave will do wonders for your health.
