CHAIR YOGA is a program that has evolved over 20 years to include warming up the entire body and then moving into traditional yoga poses done, mostly seated, but also standing, using the chair for support to work on balance and strength. Stretch bands are used for added flexibility. The goal is to relax and have a complete, gentle workout. Anyone of any age, size or fitness level can benefit from chair yoga. SLOW-FLOW-GENTLE YOGA opens the entire body with warming-up exercises and then moves into the traditional poses done seated, on the hands and knees, on the back and standing. The class focuses on breathing and moving with awareness while keeping comfortable and safe. A long relaxation (shavasan) is the final pose. You will leave class feeling very relaxed, yet fully energized.
