We would like to invite Sarasota art and music patrons to join us for a fundraising event to assist with the opening of First Feather Gallery, a Native American fine art gallery on January 13, 7­–11 p.m. Grammy Award-winning artist and flutist Robert Mirabal from Taos Pueblo will be our guest artist. A true Renaissance man, Mirabal has dedicated his life to creative self-expression.

            He has a unique talent for merging both mystical elements of ancient cultures and modern influences in his music. He keeps a foot in each world, effortlessly drawing upon them for equal inspiration. Funds will support the final cost of the grand opening and seeding the “Blessing for Rain Project” to bring clean water technologies to Indigenous communities with contaminated water. Tickets are $400, and only 40 seats are available. Join us for dinner, music, artwork and a drawing for an art pieces. Your purchases will also help fund the gallery.

In addition, on January 18,19 and 20, Come experience the culture and artistry of the Native American people at the twelfth annual Sarasota Native American Indian Festival January at the Sarasota Fairgrounds. Our host drum this year is Red Boys. We are honored to have Mirabal join again us for this weekend as our guest artist. Anthony Aleman will also be joining with his Yadaki (digeridoo). Fine arts and crafts, music, drumming, dancing and food will be offered.
