Join us at Unity of Sarasota to celebrate “60 Years of Motown and Black History Month Sunday.” Our special guest musician for this event is Eddie Watkins, Jr., who is fresh from a gig with The Temptations, and has worked with artists such as Diana Ross, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye and other Motown stars. 

When Motown left Detroit for Los Angeles so did Watkins, who transitioned into playing with Barbra Streisand, James Brown and other musical legends across different genres. Then, while in recovery from drug abuse, he experienced a spiritual awakening that led him to focus on helping to create a world that works for all through his powerful and positive music. Watkins has since been a Music Director for both Unity Churches and Centers for Spiritual Living. Come listen to various Motown hits, combined with spiritual uplift, on February 9, 1 p.m.
