The Lightness of Walking for Improved Balance and Pain Relief

Over the years injuries, habits and illnesses have moved many of us away from that youthful, balanced walk we used to have. Learn to re-embody the basic elements for walking in your own home every Tuesday for six weeks. From September 22 through October 27, tune in weekly online from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for Bonnie Kissam’s Feldenkrais “Awareness through Movement” lessons to help redesign your walk. 

To participate, you will need a chair, a carpeted or padded spot on the floor, and a computer or mobile device with a camera. These classes can teach you to quite old, habitual patterns and train you to practice easier, more efficient movements. In addition, you can also access Kissam’s free e-book tiled The ABC’s for Walking to further help you fine-tune your own alignment, balance and coordination. 

You can also join “A Taste of Feldenkrais: Class on Essentials” which takes place Mondays, 7:15 p.m., (the first two sessions are complimentary), or you can experience ongoing Feldenkrais classes on Mondays, 5:45 p.m., and Wednesdays, 9:45 a.m. or 11 a.m. Both classes are offered on Zoom.
